DJ-Dog Training
Safe training arrangements and COVID-19
To comply with Government and personal requirements in operation at the relevant time for safe working and social contact/distancing under COVID-19. The following measures (or selection of measures) will be applied to ensure wherever possible, the safety of Trainers and Handlers whilst attending dog training.
NO ONE SHOULD ATTEND TRAINING IF THEY OR ANY HOUSEHOLD MEMBER IS DISPLAYING ANY COVID-19 TYPE SYMPTOMS
1 All people attending the training sessions will be required to observe safe social distancing & good hygiene practices at all times. Dogs should be ON LEAD at all times, including the car parking and grass areas serving the hall. Please “exercise” your dog(s) wherever possible “off site” before attending training.
2 The front & rear car parks will be used for those attending training sessions:
3 Excluding trainers, we will according to level, train the number of individual Handlers and dogs in the hall following the “Action with Communities in Rural England information sheet” so that maximum social distancing can be maintained.
4 When the hall is clear of a previous training class handlers and dogs will ENTER the hall by the main entrance, and EXIT by the emergency exit door (at the opposite end to the hall kitchen area).
5 To maintain safe working distances, Handlers & dogs will be given a designated training space, identified by marker cones, position on the long sides of the hall, unless instructed otherwise by the Trainer during the training sessions.
6 Payment for the training sessions will be carried out using distancing measures. Handlers are requested to have the correct training fee. Payment can be made by cash, Credit/Debit card or bank transfer.
7 Training exercises will be restricted to those that can carried out following social distancing with all training carried out “on lead” unless directed by a trainer. Handlers to bring own dog toys for “play” exercises.
8 Dog leads should be approximately 1 metre long so that the 2m social distance can be estimated and maintained, but extending leads must not be used.
9 To avoid "multiple use" situations group seating and kitchen facilities will not be provided for handlers unless allowed by currant regulations.
10 Sanitising & hygiene measures should be observed whenever necessary during & between training sessions with provided Gel & Sprays, but handlers will need to provide their own specific PPE and any chemical sanitisers if they have any special needs or allergies.
Providing handlers & Trainers comply with these risk control measures and those required by Government COVID-19 legislation, there should be a minimal risk to all those attending dog training sessions.
